16 Months
Oh Allison, what a character. She is so cute these days and INTO everything. She finally feels better as we have been battling a stomach bug, a bad cough, upper respiratory infections, and sinus problems, but doctor kept telling us it was all viral so we have been doing this for about a month. But finally the doc gave us an antibiotic which has cleared it all up :) SO with all of that plus getting all her eye teeth we have had some clingy moments. Its such a cute age though, she now dances quite a bit and gets down really low with her hand in the air. She also can understand when you ask her to do things such as bring things to you and she will tell you when she is hungry by bringing you to the panty or highchair. She loves mashed potatoes, spaghetti-chicken and meat, grandola bars, graham crackers, apple sauce, brocolli-cheese-chicken rice casserole, she doesnt care for much veggies but loves fruit. Mainly bananas and grapes. She still loves goldfish and loved candy. She had a great halloween and was able to walk and take her little lamb sack to a couple of houses. She was the cutest little lamb. She loved the candy. We went over to Jim and Sabrinas and went trick or treating in Prosper. They were giving out full size candy bars :) so Will and I ended up eating the majority of the candy. She has also moved to another preschool-Primrose which I am loving so much more. The other place was truly a daycare and were not teaching her anything. I am excited, Will and I went to her little school for her thanksgiving meal. She wanted us to hold her and wouldnt eat but all the little kiddos were doing that. She is talking more and singing at times. She has said bath, bannana, mama, dada, night night, hi, bye,She is back to waving at people all of the time especially when we are out shopping. She loves her little horsie still, and she is big about opening and shutting doors. I often hear the doors shutting and then her screaming because she wants out or just attention. :) She loves bath time usually and Will and I usually take one with her now. I sing a song to her: bath time bath time lalalalala and she LOVES It. SILLY yes I know but it works to get her excited about bath time. She is wearing 12-18 but she can wear 18-24 months. She is a mamas girl still and can have stranger anxiety but warms up fairly quickly. Her other favorite toys are her car and building blocks. She is getting more and more into books and I do that with her each night before bed.

15 Months Old
Walking Walking and more Walking!!!
She is just getting cuter and cuter. What a little ham. She is also definitely protesting a lot more regarding being tied down in car seats, shopping buggies, etc It makes it very difficult to take her to a store unless its in a 15 minutes span. She loves walking around the cul de sac and really can walk quite far. She is able to play on the playground which is a lot of fun. She has started a little daycare although I think we are going to move her as I dont think they do as much with her as I like. She is also crying a lot cause I can watch her on the cameras they have remotely which makes me sad and makes me wonder if she isnt adjusting. I think she is moving to Primrose, as I want her to have a schedule and more attention :). Back to allie though, she is laughing quite a bit, and we have kindof started some tantrums but they arent bad yet, she just cries quite a bit if she doesnt get to do what she wants. She loves phones, remotes, pens (with the cap on), crayons, her couze coupe, blocks, play telephones, her grocery cart-she puts all sorts of stuff in it and will push it around the kitchen. Allie also acts as though she is on the telephone and when she sees a dog she mimicks it by barking. She wont watch much cartoons although if they are on she will look at them for a second especially if there is music as that is when she will start dancing. She still loves baths and plays with her alphabet letters. she likes splashing her feet in the water as well. She also loves to be outside!! anytime she can go outside she loves it which we will usually open the back door and let her play. she loves playing on computers and the IPAD. She is still saying mama, dada, dog, ball, nana, and she says na na na na and points to what she wants. she gets very mad if she points to something she wants and you dont have it correct she gets louder with her na na na na. :) she is very loving at times if you can get her to slow down. Every night when its night night time if I take her or Will the other parent will get lots of night night kisses and she will tell you night night. She is still very obsessed with her little lamb as she takes it with her at all times especially at her little daycare. You see her with her paci and lamb. She sleeps with it everynight with her music. She is a good eater most of the time, but once she is done she starts standing in her seat. She loves puffs, cheetos (although I dont give her many at all), goldfish, BUT SHE IS OBSESSED WITH FRUIT. Mainly grapes and oranges although its too acidic so she doesnt get many of those. She loves watermelon, bannans, strawberries, apples. She loves yogurt too. I can always get her to eat spaghetti. She also likes chicken brocoli cheese casserole, hot dogs, rotisierre chicken, peas although not as much as when she was younger. She loves cheese and milk as well. I give her milk at all meals and then water or water/apple juice in between. She has dropped her second nap although at times I can get her to do two although very difficult. But I will say this has been hard because she is very tired but cant go to sleep so she is very tired by the end of the day so her bedtime is now 730 sometimes as early as 645-7. She will sleep all night and always wakes up around 7:20. Even if we keep her up later she wont sleep later. I have also taken her to the mall a couple of times and they have the cutest little play area for little kids. She likes playing with kids, its just such a fun age. They are so interactive and amused. ITS very busy but also so much fun. What a great time.

14 months old
I keep writing this blog later and later when she is almost into her 15th month :) oh well at least im trying to stay on top of it. Well Allison is into almost everything. She is walking very well and fast. Although we are definitely still toddling but she is truly such a cute age. She has found her belly button probably about a week ago though. She has really started comprehending things and if I tell her to bring me something she can usually do it (if she wants to). She has become obsessed with her lamb that we got her for her dedication. She takes it with her everywhere, all day long and sleeps with it too. Its pretty cute. Allison started her little school, aka Daycare at Kids R Kids this month. I have had a hard time with it mainly because I know she isnt used to it and there are so many kids. You feel like your just dropping her off all alone. I cried the first few times and may continue but she seems to like it. I can watch her all day long on the camera they have in the room so that helps. She only goes twice a week and then goes to Nicole still once a week. She loves Nicole and I love Nicole so I am not ready to part ways. Allison loves bath time, I recently went and got her some alphabet letters as she likes the ones on the fridge-which I need to buy those too. She is gotten very good at feeding herself and we are almost to the stage of having plates although I know she is tempted to still throw them at something or me. She has gotten pretty good with using utensils too. Our other huge milestone is trying to drop her second nap. WHICH I HAVE LOVED having her have two naps because it was the perfect amount of time for me to work some from the house and get things done twice in one day. I will say this transition with the naps has been difficult as she is so tired. So sometimes we still do two but since at Daycare and Nicoles she only takes one we are trying to follow suit. She will go down about 11-1 so not a ton of time like I was getting but that means she is exhausted at like 5. She has started having earlier bedtimes around 7-730 as she starts melting down after that. She loves to talk to herself and she is very big about pointing to everything she wants to do. She loves sitting by herself in chairs, and will often at times push me out of the way so she can sit somewhere by herself. If I even put my hand on the chair she gets mad. She is also very loving and at different times of the day will come walk/run to me with big open arms and big open mouth for a kiss. What a blessing. She always gives night night kisses to either Will or I depending on who is not putting her to sleep. She although hates for you to leave her in her crib when its time to take a nap or go night night but will only cry for about 30 seconds and then just plays in her crib until she falls asleep. Allison no longer does any bottles, but she was finished with those around 13 months, and she doesnt like to have any milk before bedtime. She loves raisins, grapes, watermelon, bananas, oranges, spaghetti, hot dogs, graham crackers, goldfish, chewy granola bars, yogurt, cheese but not macaroni and cheese, chicken nuggets from chick fil a.. she is a good eater. Everytime from daycare they report that she ate all her meals. She got a another ear infection last week. I am not sure if they are thinking tubes, I dont think they are but we are defnitely watching it and im curious as how it will be during winter considering that is when she will get more colds. Oh goodness. But I will say this is a fun time, she is so interactive still loves music. We are on the brinks of temper tantrums though which scares me because I dont want her to do that :) and I want to do the right thing so she wont do them again, but I know that wont happen, just wishful thinking. We get onto her right now for standing in her highchair, and bathtub. But now she is getting quite vocal to get out of things like carseats and buggies at the store. So the adventures will continue I know. But what a ride. I am going to start doing some new activities with her as I think she is ready and can really get into them, just got to find them.
On another note, natalie got married. It was absolutely gorgeous, and she looked amazing. Her and mother did such a good job. Everyone had a great time. Allie stayed with the Driskells, thank goodness as there wouldnt have been any time to do things with everyone else.
Things to Remember:
Words: dog, night night, banana, ball, momma, mom, da da, uh oh,

her lamb
her love of stairs
playing peek a boo where she makes mommy find her
allie finding mommy's belly button and her own
allie starting to like books, pop up or touch books although wants to hold them and turn the pages herself, then is done with it after 10 seconds.
mommy trying to let allie watch tv for at least 5 minutes straight but no go at this time

13th Month
Allison is WALKING!!! She took her first steps in her 12th month but she was sooo cautious that she would take two steps and fall. She also would get so frustrated. She started walking really when Will and I were in Chicago. They have a lot of open space in their home so I think she was able to have the confidence to move around. Also it helped to have her cousins there and the Driskells encouraging her in that environment. The most steps she had taken with Will and I were about 6 but then with them that weekend she took about 20. The next week August 8th she started walking a lot more. She still falls and is quite wobbly but its so cute. And she is so proud of herself, which of course we are too. Its the sweetest thing for her to walk to you with her arms out and ready for you to scoop her up with praise for doing such a good job. She is such a stinker. She got really sick again the last week of July. She had another ear infection and her fever got up to about 105... very scary. Mama Mel was in town so it helped me since Will was gone. Bless her heart she was so lethargic and so hot. We put her in the bath tub immediately. As for everything else everyday is a new adventure. Its precious, as she mimicks things a lot more... She hugs her stuffed animals, she brushes her hair with a brush, she tries to brush her teeth she always will put something up to her ear like a phone, she is always pointing the remote to the tv... She talks a lot, she has said ball, dog, bannana although its nana, dog is da, ball is ba... She loves to say mamma and dadda. Allison also still loves loves loves the stairs but we did get a gate so that keeps her away for the most part. She loves playing with her toys, but mainly loves to take things out of things and then put them back in. if something is in a drawer she loves to take it out. she likes pulling clothes out of drawers. She also loves when bailey gives her kisses. We tell her to give us a kiss and she opens up her mouth real wide, its precious. She also loves sleeping with her little lamb and anytime I take her out of the crib she has to take the lamb with her.... So cute :) Allison also loves to try and eat dog food.. She loves her baths now too, she plays and plays with her toys mainly putting things in and out of the cubby hole that holds the toys and also puts the toys in the cup. Allison is also the biggest dancer, she puts one arm in the air and just will shake her little butt. Any music that comes on, commericials etc.. its so cute. She smiles and smiles when she does it too. She still gets a bottle at night before bedtime but does sippy cups the other times. She still loves her paci at night to sleep. That might be a bad habit to break. She doesnt need it but to sleep. :( Allison lately has been putting things in her toes adn then eating them.. HAHAH funny girl.

12 Months ... LATE POST
So again its been forever since I posted. Most of June seemed like a blur, as Will and I traveled a lot. We went to New Orleans, New York, and Wimberley. Although the last post pretty much still sums things up as it is going here but I will try and remember most of what happened. Allie is such a cutie, she loves to dance still and now shakes her butt while she has a hand in the air. She loves to clap and smile. Although she is more tempermental now in that one minute she is fine and the next she is upset. During the 12 months she isnt walking but cruising like a champ. She is very cautious. She didnt stand much in her 12 months unless you helped her get in the standing position but in the 13th month she has started going from sitting to standing on her own without any help. She has taken three steps. She also in her 12th month started playing a lot with her toys really the way they are intended. Its like it clicked and she understood what she was supposed to do with them. HER BIRTHDAY was this month (12th). WHAT A WONDERFUL weekend. We all went down to Wimberley on Friday July 1st. Natalie/Wyatt came in from NY, mom/Fred came in from Houston,Jim/Sabrina came in from Prosper, Mr/Mrs D came in From Crockett, Lynne/Jody came in from Waxahachie, Jenny/Patrick came ;in from Houston on Sunday,Tommy/ Christine/Jack/Josh came in from Round Rock, Kim/Joe came in from Austin; Amanda/daniel came in from Houston,n; Debbie/Ralph Horridge came in from AustiSandra/Stan were at the party/Shirley; as well as Larry We had a lot of fun. On Saturday we had sandwiches etc for lunch at the River, and floated and everyone just hung out. That evening we had mexican food down at the river and listened to music. Then Sunday we got ready for Allisons' party like mad women. Mom was such a help. we decorated and cooked all late saturday night and sunday morning. the party started at 11am. Will made the hamburger sliders and homemade fries. We had an icecream sundae bar- hot fudge, carmel sauce, blueberries, bananas, and, white, blue M&Ms, crushed oreos, nuts, we had cupcakes from Society bakery. Then we had buffalo chicken dip, ranch dip, all sort of toppings for the sliders- pepper jack cheese/cheddar/american, bbq, avocados, bacon, chipolte mayo, mustard, ketchup, onions, lettuce, tomato, onion rings,jalapenos.... I made these cute little signs that said The All American Burger- american cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo; Uncle Sams Favorite- bbq sauce, onion rings, cheese, tomato, lettuce; Hot as Fireworks- pepper jack cheese, jalapenos, lettuce, tomato and Declace your independence where you can put any topping you want. We also did homemade sangria. I got so many decorations that were fireworks that it looked like the

11th Months
Well I am trying to think of all the new things Allison is up to. She still love loves the STAIRS. We still havent gotten a baby gate, Yes I KNOW STUPID, but we will. SHE GOT BOTH OF HER first year molars. Bless the baby's heart she has teethed so quickly but I guess its better that we are almost complete I guess. Allison has been talking a lot more, I think she has said dog and I can definitely tell she knows when I say dog. She knows NO but will look at you and then pretty much go back to what she was doing. She likes climbing on the fireplace now. She is a dancer now, anytime music is on she loves to dance. She also claps all the time but she did that around 9 1/2 months too. She is absolutely precious if I can say so myself. She is a handful but I think that comes with the territory. She is sooooooooooo fast at crawling, its crazy. She still plays with most toys like her leap frog table, she still loves computers, she loves golfballs, her crawling ball, keys, remotes, phones..... I bought her a new steering wheel toy but she hasnt become too interested in it yet. Allison is eating almost everything except peanut butter and nuts but she loves goldfish, cheetos, turkey, cheese, chicken, green sweet peas, bananas, applesauce, yogurt, spaghetti, puffs, etc. Allison's eyes have turned green, they are really pretty. Everyone who sees her will say she has gorgeous eyes. She went to Wimberley again and got in the river with her bumble bee raft. She loved it and was very entertained, gave mommy some type of break. She waves to people now and will say something like HI, but I cant always tell. She also points to people too. She isnt going through seperation anxiety yet. She only did that for a week really which is very nice... Im keeping my fingers crossed. Will and I went to NO for a weekend and Allison stayed with Sabrina and Jim. They said she did very well, but I still felt guilty. They said they had a good time with her, but she didnt feel well on Sunday. SO I took her to the doctor and she had a sinus infection. Poor punkin. She weighed 19 1/2 pounds. Doc put her on a amoxicillan for 10 days. Allison is all over the place, and changing her diaper is a chore as she is always turning over and sitting up. Most of the time I have to sing to her and/or give her a toy to play with, which works sometimes. I sing the wheels on the bus, itsy bitsy spider, old mcdonald, abc... thats about all I know. :) I am still enjoying everything about motherhood, I will say its gotten more challenging in that you cant get much done as she is into everything and wants to be entertained. BUT ITS SO cute and fun. But much more active on my part :)Her birthday is less than a month away. We are doing a firecracker theme. I cant wait, it will be in Wimberley. FUN TIMES AHEAD.. I dont think Allie will be walking by then but at this point its okay. She is on the move enough.
Things To remember:
Still listening to her music every night
bath time in her duck
Mama and Dada
Waving and smiling to everyone
laughing
playing the "im going to get you"game
playing her crib-jumping

10 Months Old
WOW, 10 months have just flown by. I still feel like I can still say to people, "I just had a baby" but then I think no my baby is almost 1 years old. WOW time truly does go fast with little ones. I call Allison these days, My CRAZY girl. She is into everything. SHE LOVES loves the STAIRS. I tam getting a baby gate tomorrow as she cannot be left unattended for one second b/c if you do you will find her three stairs from THE TOP which is too dangerous. She has said Mama and Dada in her ninth month of course I have to say she said Mama first. :) We have been going through a formula strike for the last month I would say. She just simply will not drink much formula. It started when she was really congested but once that went away she just pushes the bottle away. We are lucky if she will drink 20oz of formula, right now I would say we are averaging about 18 maybe :( The doc thinks we should move her down to two meals a day again but I have yet to do it. Allison is on a pretty great schedule now, never thought I would have had her on one but it naturally progressed this way which is great. About 645-7am she gets up and has a bottle usually about 3 1/2 oz then she starts pushing the bottle out of my hand and is ready to play. She loves crawling moving standing crusing YOU NAME IT!!! She isnt as fond of the bouncer like she was merely b/c it keeps her strapped in and she wants to move around but she loves to jump in anyone arms and at times in the bouncer. After she plays for a while we eat breakfast around 815-830, she will eat fruit (SHE IS OBSESSED with bananas and mandrain oranges) then she will have some oatmeal, buscuits, or whatnot. She likes most all breakfast foods. Then around 9 she goes down with a bottle (3-4oz) for a nap which usually lasts 1.5-2hrs. Then she eats 1-2 oz of a bottle and is off again. She still plays on her leap frog table, she loves GOLF Balls, keys, OBSESSED with our computers, cell phones, remotes. We usually go do something errand etc and then have lunch around 1130-12. She eats fruit, chicken, sweet peas, leftovers from the night before- spaghetti, chicken spaghetti, taco meat, etc. She goes back down for a nap in which she will usually drink about 31/2-4oz of formula. She will nap for about 1.5 hours then we play some more until supper about 530, then bath, then play some more then sleep at about 715-730 where she will drink about 5oz. Its exhausting, but so much fun. She is such a ham. Anywhere we go she intentionally looks at anyone and then gives them this enchanting smile in which case they go on and on about how sweet and darling she is. Of COURSE I beam b/c I believe it to :) I hear all the time about how goregous her eyes are and they are truly beautiful, they are turning much more green. I have become obsessed with smocked dresses, I have stopped buying clothes for 12 mo as she has enough. Allie is gabbing and talking all the time, she loves to scream and get a reaction from anyone. She is also My Little monkey b/c whereever I am she looks and starts climbing on my legs trying to pull herself up. She isnt going through much stranger anxiety like I thought she was going to do, she has been easily going to many people with no struggles. But since I wrote that here in the blog, I bet she starts doing it :) She has gotten easier to put down at night, now dont get me wrong there is still a process but it doesnt take that long b/c I think she is over getting up so much in her crib as she done it so many times. I am truly still having so much fun and am so thankful for our little family.
Things to Remember:
Allie wearing 6-12mo or 9mo, still pretty small

formula strike-- who blames her :)
SIPPY CUP-trained, she loves turning up her cup and drinking from it
mandrain oranges
sweet peas
duck bathtub- she likes it still

mama, dada, nnnnnnn, gabbing and talking all the time although we cant understand what she is saying
screaming

Allison Easter and Dedication
Allison Loved her Easter Basket and books. The Easter Bunny brought her a bunny and some mini eggs with candy although Allison couldnt eat it so Mommy did instead
Mommy and Allie
The Driskell Fam
I thought Allison would be so scared of the scary Easter Bunny but she loved him and sat right on his lap with a huge smile!!
Allison was dedicated at First Christian Church in Crockett, Texas by Tim Allen on April 24, 2011, Easter Sunday!!! It was a beautiful service although Allison fell asleep before her dedication started and didnt wake up until after church was over. She refused to take a nap before Church so I knew she was either going to crash or be extremely grumpy so I definitely preferred the first. It was such a wonderful dedication. Both Fred and Mr. Driskell said a blessing over her and then Tim had Will put his hand on Allison's head while he. blessed her. She wore a Feltman brothers dress given to her by Mama Mel when she was born. I bought her a bonnet but she refused to wear it so I tried twice and she wasnt having it so I didnt push my luck. After the dedication we went over to Mr and Mrs. Driskells for lasagna and company.

Allison
Im trying to do better by bloggingy more about what we are up to as I know we will forget. Last weekend we were in Crockett for the Ronnie Milsap concert. It was a lot of fun. The Driskells hosted a party after the concert and Ronnie Milsap came to their house for pictures etc. Allison and the rest of the driskell kiddos went to a babysitter at the preachers house. She supposedly did great, I did worry about her since it wasnt one of our parents keeping her but it wasnt that bad. This weekend we are hanging out in Frisco and we want to take Allison to see the Easter Bunny. I will bet 99% she will cry b/c he will scare her but we will see. I will be sure and post pictures. I also wanted to blog about some special things Allison is doing. On Monday she got a cold probably from Longview as we both very allergic to something there, so I took her to the pedi b/c I thought she might have another ear infection but she was clear YAHOO!! so I decided to do a steam bath with her. She was so precious and so tired that she let me just hold her and she fell asleep on my chest while we waited in the steam shower. In my head I recorded that moment as it as so sweet as she just held onto my fingers and placed her head on me as I rocked and sang to her in the shower. MY LOVE!!! Other fun things she is doing is during night night time, she doesnt want to go to sleep right away so she stands in her crib smiling and then when I go in there she puts her small little hands and arm through the crib railings and grabs my hand. :) Melts my heart. Love that little one. Will is traveling this week so me and Allie have just been hanging. I worked tues and wed and tomorrow we have a play date with the Simpson girls and their baby girls. FUN! FUN!

9 Months Old
Well we have had a busy month. Baby girl is now crawling and pulling up on everything. She had been acting like she would crawl at the end of her seventh month just rocking back and forth but she didnt take the plunge until about the middle of march-right around 8 1/2 months. Although now she is crawling everywhere and following me around she at first would only crawl to what she wanted, toys etc. But she started pulling up the same day or the next day as she started crawling. It is so funny to try and put her to sleep these days as the second you put her in her crib, she turns over and immediately turns to her side rolls over, gets on her knees, and then grabs the side of the crib and pulls herself up. ALL within about 2-3seconds. Then she grins so big at her new accomplishment. It is the sweetest thing although crazy at times. I used to be able to put her to sleep with her bottle and she would be out but these days its a entire new ball game. My newest trick is to start with a bottle which she will drink about 2 oz and then she starts her game. I usually will play a little with her in her crib such as peekaboo or whatnot but then I will leave and let her play in her crib. She usually will play about 10-15 minutes but then get very angry in which case I go back up there and give her the rest of the bottle which then she will usually go back to sleep. So we will see. Besides crawling and pulling up on everything, she GOT 6 teeth within this month. Its like they all started sprouting at once. The third tooth she got was on her bottom right side, then she got her two front teeth at the same time, then she got her bottom left, and then the two by her front teeth. They are all through the gums and 1/2 way grown. She is also eating all sorts of finger foods like bananas, gerber puffs, veggie sticks (like cheetos), yogurt melts, and some cookies. :)We tried spaghetti at the end of her eight month but it made me nervous so we didnt do it again until recently. She is eating 2 meals per day still usually fruit with oatmeal in the morning and then veggies at night although we have moved to stage 3 foods- chicken noodle dinner and of course the regular squash, sweet potatoes etc. I am trying to add variety to her dinner as I have been doing a lot of the same things. Allison loves loves loves her leap frog table that sings to her. I try to read to her but she still doesnt have much interest in them, usually she bites the books or tries to rip the pages out. We have tried to put her in the duck bath tub a couple more times but she still will not have it and cries everytime its near. We have traveled this month to Austin but that is it. Allison is getting into her own spirit, she is trying to grab the spoon from me when I feed her. She also squirms much more and watches everything. She loves finger foods. She looks for toys when I take them away as well as if I drop them. She is so fun right now and is just so active. I can no longer change her diaper without her squirming and rolling over. Its a new adventure each day :) Stranger anxiety has started, she isnt as easy to hand over to people although she at this point warms up pretty quickly. She also lays her head on my chest and gets shy when im holding her and people come up. Allie is such a ham, when we are out and about, she will just wait until someone looks at her so that she can smile at them. Its absolutely precious.
Things to Remember:
Allison still listens to the sound machine- rock a bye baby-- every night
she is eating almost 6 oz of food per meal and/or botle with 6 oz every 4 hours
she sleeps through the night still from about 7-7
She crawls everywhere
She pulls up on everything
She is in 6-12 month clothing, but 9 months fits perfectly
She gets a bath every night, still in her bumbo chair in the bathtub b/c she hates her duck bathtub
She loves her leap frog table
She does double consonants but no dada, mama, but does like babababa, lalala,
she is starting to squeal and scream a lot

Well we experienced our baby's first illness, an ear infection. She was really sick and her fever got up to 104.9. It was really scary and I felt so bad for her. She was so lethargic and so hot. At first she got a bad cold, which we gave her saline drops, humidifier and steam baths. She kept pulling at her left ear a couple of weeks before she got the cold so I ended up going to the doctor on a Monday to see if she had an ear infection. Of course she didnt but the doctor thought she just had a fever because of her cold. But by Thursday she was so sick I took her back and the doctor saw that she had a bad ear infection in that left ear so she was started on amoxicillin. She had a terrible cough with her cold that she ended up throwing up multiple times because she was coughing so hard. I felt so bad for her, it is such a helpless feeling when you cant do anything else for them. She luckily stopped running fever two days after the antibiotics which was such a relief. Poor punkin. Other than all of that, things have been great. Allison is still such an amazing baby, she laughs and smiles at everyone. She had started a little separation anxiety with me but hasnt done it since she was sick so I think it was just a phase she went through because she wasnt feeling well. Allison is squealing a lot more and talks a lot but I cant tell consonants yet. She does make a mmmmm sound when she eats but other than that she just mumbles. :) She is almost crawling, she gets on her hands and knees on her own and lunges for things but usually falls back on her belly. She does do better going backwards and now goes from a hands knees position to backwards and then sits up. When she is in her crib at nap time she gets on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth. Recently she has started sitting up in her crib and starts pulling on her bumper. I think its time to move the crib down to the next latch. Allison is still in her bumbo in the bathtub although she is getting too big for it. I bought her this big rubber duckey bathtub which is bigger and inflatable so if she falls it wouldnt hurt her. The second I put her in it she screamed and was completely terrified. Which was crazy b/c she never cries or gets that scared. bless her heart but I have laughed at the picture of her in this bathtub multiple times. We have started Allison on finger foods but just recenttly probably in the last two weeks, we do the puffs and yogurt melts. Also bananas and today I gave her some raisins. She does really well with them. She is still on a similar feeding schedule like last month where she eats two meals a day usually oatmeal and a fruit in the morning around 10 and then a veggie (although we have tried meats apples/chicken, beef/macoroni) with fruit as well. She still drinks formula and holds her bottle most of the time. She drinks about 6 oz every 3- 3 1/2 hours depending on when she ate solids. Although at night before bed I give her 7 oz. She loves loves loves computers or at least her parents, anytime Will and I are on ours she lunges at them and loves to type. I went and bought her own little play laptop she likes it but not like ours. She loves opening and closing things, her play computer and the microwave. haha. She rolls each way very easily. She is such a joy and I truly enjoy playing with her. She has also started giving wet kisses, she keeps her mouth completely open but if you put your cheek up to her mouth she leans forward and acts like she may bite it but you just feel her wet little lips. It melts my heart. She also reaches for me. That I love as well. if she is bouncing in her jumper or what not and I start coming over there she reachs her arms up. She has started pulling up on some things and will grab for anything close to her. She loves my watch and loves my phone to chew on of course. SHE IS GETTING HER THIRD TOOTH and not on the top but on the bottom. She hasnt been very fussy though. She has also gotten used to solid foods so we arent having to give her prune juice anymore.
Things to Remember:
opening her mouth up like a bird for more food. Sometimes I cant even get the spoon back in the food fast enough before she wants more
She still hates green beans, now carrots, avacados
She loves squash, mixed veggies, corn, apples, sweet potatoes, mixed fruit, oranges, pears, bananas.
She still has her music on every night- so I hear it over the monitor- either Rock a bye baby or twinkle twinkle
Third tooth
rubber duckey bathtub that she hates
her first illness
Mama Mel and Grandpa Fred keeping her an entire weekend
Sitting in highchair at restaurants
sitting in shopping cart for the first time
going to the park, swinging on a swing for the first time as well as going down a slide with daddy
going on walks with daddy and me

Allison is busy busy busy. I am thoroughly enjoying her as she is just so animated and smiley. She is a great baby and smiles at everyone. She is laughing a lot more and its hard to keep her in my arms because she is trying to grab at everything. If I have anything in my hand she definitely wants it, such as last week when I got my coffee and looked away and she grabbed the drink. Needless to say there were a few tears because it was hot and she got some on her hand. Allison is almost crawling I think :) she is moving back and forth on her knees and is trying to go after toys on the ground. Although she had rolled front to back when she was real young she is just now doing it both ways all of the time rather than just rolling from her back to stomach. She does not like being on her back much and most of the time is trying to lift her self up, I call them her "baby sit ups". She is eating twice a day usually around 10-11 and 5-6. She loves pears, peaches, apples/applesauce, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, squash, bananas, strawberry/apple/bananas, but DOES not like green beans nor sweet peas. Although she is starting to try sweet peas some more and carrots. I just started giving her some oatmeal and she seems to like it as well. I dont give her rice cereal much because the solids has made her somewhat constipated. We give her some prune juice, "poo juice" as Aunt Natty calls it after her meals. Seems to help some. :) okay enough of that talk. Allison is talking a lot these days, she makes all sorts of noises and gets quite vocal when she wants to do something else and/or get our of the highchair. Allison is still sleeping great, usually gets her bath around 615 and is asleep by 645 and sleeps until 7. We had a huge ice storm/icestorm last tuesday. We were pretty much stuck inside from tues-sat. Good thing I only worked on wednesday. We played with Allison on Friday outside although there isnt too much to do with an infant in the snow besides take some pictures. OH biggest milestone we have hit is that Allie is sitting up by herself. She did this about 6 1/2 months although she sat for about 10 seconds before that but about 6 1/2 months she did it for long periods of times and can sit and play with her toys. Its so great!!! She is very much into toys these days, she loves toys that play music and still always puts them in her mouth. She recognizes her name and always smiles when I or Will come around. Pretty much everyone for that matter but I always want to think its me or her daddy that really lites her up :) Allison has just now started to recognize when I come to pick her up, I start clapping my hands and act as though I am going to lift her up and she smiles and starts laughing. She reaches her arms out for me to hold her, and it just melts my heart. I read about that just now and they "the experts" say to be warned b/c as cute as it is the baby girl will start learning that everytime she squeals she can get me to come get her if she puts her arms up. haha I will work on that next month as it is just so cute I have to get her. She is definitely a wiggly worm and it has gotten hard to change diapers etc because she is wanting to do something different, but I have noticed if I give her a toy to distract her while I change her/dress her it works for the moment. We will see..... I think its time to start play dates more as she has really started taking a interest in other babies. I also need to start reading with her more, I do it some but she is so squirmy at times she wants to go go go. I am going to start that this week!!!! We have been somewhat busy, went to Wimberely one week, then one week Mama Mel/Fred,Aunt natty came to stay for Lynnes baby shower. The other weekend I think we just hung out at the house and hung out with Jt and Sara. We are going to Longview this weekend.
Things to Remember:
Solid Foods- I call Allison a little bird as she opens her mouth after the food (she likes) she immediately opens it back up as to say I need more Woman
Prune Juice
Paci- she is using these more especially for nap times as she does not like to take naps although we have lengthened them to about 1.5-2 at least for one. She still takes 2-3 naps per day.
She is drinking 6-8 ozs of formula
She eats about 3.5oz of food twice a day
I call her my little Drool Monkey
She sweet sweet laugh
Jumperoo- she still loves this thing
trying to pull up on everything with my help of course
She has started pulling at her ears when she is sleepy as well as rubbing her eyes
she still pulls at hair, faces whatever she can get her hands on
She likes opening and closing the microwave door
Life is great, I am still working part time which I am so thankful as I have more time with my baby girl. I truly cherish the time we have one those days that I am not working. She is at such a fun age and I am enjoying it immensley. Being a mother is truly an amazing gift. Will is such a great daddy too, he will go and get Allison in the mornings so she can come snuggle with us, he missed her all night. He is smitten with his little girl.

6 Months Old

Man, I need to get better at blogging. I have so many thoughts in my head and I am truly trying to cherish and remember every memory. SO I have to get better about recording all these memorable times. We had a great 1st christmas with our baby girl. Although she didnt know it was Christmas, it made it so much more special to have her here with us to celebrate. She wasnt eating solids during the holidays so she enjoyed her milk :) She got lots of presents, clothes, and toys. Especially her jumper, walker, octopus, musical toys, tea set, etc. She would get a present in her lap and try and chew on the bow. She is defintely teething again and I think her left front tooth is coming through the gums. We spent some time before Christmas with Mama mel and Fred and then went to the Driskells for Christmas Day. During her 5th month were were still sleeping though the night and most of the nights Allison would sleep from 7-7:30 and have no night feedings. We started some formula this month but Allison mainly got breastmilk. She at first hated the taste of formula so we would do 1 oz of formula and the rest breastmilk until she got more used to the taste. We tried enfamil ar but that caused her to spit up a lot. So we switched her to Similac Sensitive for Spit Up which she seems to be doing well. I am no longer breastfeeding and actually stopped about december 10th and just used frozen breastmilk. It wasnt painful at all mainly because I weaned myself where I went week to week and stopped pumping as much.
Allison still doesnt like to be on her tummy and she still doesnt like to roll over from her stomach to back. She definitely has gained strength in her neck and will lift up a lot more from her stomach. She loves loves loves her jumperoo and she is starting to lift herself up. She grabs at everything and watches everything we eat. Speaking of food she started rice cereal and applesauce around 5 1/2 months. She liked it although I still dont think she really cares for rice cereal, its either in my head or she truly doesnt like it. At 6 months to the day she started sweet potatoes which she seemed to like a lot although at first its hard to tell as she kept spitting some of the food out or she would make weird faces. But now I think she has figured out how to swallow so we keep trying. We at this point have done rice cereal, sweet potatoes, apples/applesauce, and now we are on butternut squash. She seems to really like all of these things. I also mixed some butternut squash with applesauce and she really liked that. She is sitting in her high chair although she is still a little small for it and often has a "gangsta" lean :) but she was licking her lips tonight so I think she really enjoyed her meal. We are supposed to feed her twice a day but its hard b/c if I am working then she goes to Nicole's early so we just do an evening meal. We may get Nicole to start feeding her on those days but for now its just practice and fun. She is still eating every 3 hours and she eats about 6oz. We went and got new bottles b/c the 5oz bottles no longer cut it b/c we are always adding more ounces. But its weird b/c sometimes she will only eat 4, who knows. Allison is much more vocal these days too although I havent noticed any consonants or anything recognizable but I am not good at diciphering b/tw sounds. She is also throwing some things and defintely playing more with toys. She still has her sound machine on every night although we have twinkle twinkle little star this week.
6 month appointment: 15lbs 14 oz and 27 inches; she is in some 3-6 months but we are moving mainly to 6-9 as many of the pants are creeping up.
Her first snow was on January 9,2011 although daddy thought we shouldnt get any pictures in case she were to get sick. I am hoping we get another one this year so I can get some photos. :) although if she were to get sick I would just die.
Things to Remember:
Allison meetinng santa-twice; first time she pulled his beard and smiled but then got scared and cried, but then the second time with daddy she sat in his lap and smiled.
Pulling hair- I cant go one minute without Allison pulling my hair out literally
JumperRoo
Sound Machine-Twinkle Twinkle and Rock A Bye Baby
Talking- babbles to self a lot especially in the morning before we go get her
People always telling Allison how pretty her eyes are
Trying Foods for the first time-faces were priceless- some were of disgust and others were confusion and then some were of joy
She still loves bath time-mommy singing to her "splish splash" and "rubber ducky"
Bedtime Routine- play, bath, lotion/masage, nightgown, sleeper bag, and bottle while I rock her then put her to bed. sometimes I will finish feeding her while she is in her crib.
Love Love Love my little girl and I am cherishing each moment
