MP turns ONE
We just got back from Crockett for MP's birthday and dedication. It really was a great weekend, and so less stressful than putting a big party together. We did a milk and cookie themed family birthday party. Mom/Fred, Dad, Nat/Wyatt, Jim/Sabrina/Chayse and Jude; Mr/Mrs Driskell; sabrinas parents were all there. We made burgers and baked beans and also had chips. We got her the cutest milk and cookie cakes with a matching smash cake- chocolate of course and yellow cake. we started the party around 4 which would have given MP plenty of time for naps etc and she had all of her naps that day but she was sooooo tired most of her party but then perked up towards the end. She is so precious, she has been walking since the end of her tenth month and has gotten quite good. She falls but then gets right back up. She loves to nod her head up and down and side to side. She still dances some by moving her face back and forth and bouncing. She loves to scream at you if you are not giving her what she wants. We have been calling MP the chunkinator, haha she loves her food, but now we are calling her the cakinator- cake in ator.... bc she at first was wondering what the smash cake was about and very dainty would put her finger in it and eat some of the icing but once we smashed her hand in the cake she went after it and after it kept eating over and over. it was hilarious... she very much enjoyed her cake. we put her down soon after the party as she was one tired girl and chocolaty!! don't think that is a word but I don't care. For the desert table we had the two cakes and then had a platter full of cookies and old vintage milk bottles. It was cute. Today we had MP dedication. She didn't have a nap all morning-service started at 1030 and her dedication wasn't until 1130 so she was wild woman. I thought she was going to fall asleep like Allison but not the girl was a hit, talking screaming squirming out of the Tim (preacher)'s hands. She even wore her bonnet. Will didn't care for the bonnet but I thought she looked precious in her smocked outfit with cross bib and bonnet. Lovely :)
MP loves to pick up random objects around the apartment (Which they are everywhere) because its pretty small and gets unkept very quickly. But she will just walk around with markers shoes etc in her hands until someone notices and then she wants to give it to you but if you take it she wants you to give it right back to her. She is obsessed with phones and computers and if you have one out she goes straight for it and will cry if you do not give it to her. She hates getting dressed or diaper changes, where she bucks back and screams so that is a real treat. But she is so smiling and funny most of the time. She loves her bath times and meal times for the most part although lately she has gotten bored with them much quicker than she used to. She loves italian food the most I think. She eats yogurt, sweet potatoes, chicken. Pretty much all food she will eat. She is still going to Mindys 2-3 times per week. I quit my job at the hospital and tomorrow is my last day. YIPEE!!!! anyway trying to think of other stuff to remember, MP is about 21-22 lbs but not sure height, we go to doc next week. She still take a bottle when she gets up in the morning before her naps and at night time but I give her lots of snacks. This week I will transition to giving her three meals per week with milk in her sippy. she still loves her paci and I don't feel like taking it away yet. I know now is probably the time but nope not going to do it. Not sure when I will switch her to her new car seat, she is still in her carrier. She is wearing 12-18 month clothes. She loves to follow Allison. Allison calls her sissy and Allison's name is sister, Allison is very particular if you do not call them by those names. We still put the sound machine on some, but not as much as we did for Allie, we don't travel with the sound machine when we go out of town. Its so interesting on your second child as you just aren't as stressed or at least I am not. For example with Allison's dedication I was freaking out because she hadn't taken a nap before the service. But with MP I just kept her up and went with it and did not worry if she acted a fool, fell asleep, whatever. They are breaking ground on our house tomorrow. They still think we will be in by the end of July. MP's words are daddy, da da, da for dog. she is probably saying more but i can't translate yet. She loves to take things in and out of things, like a drawer, she takes everything out of the living room coffee table.
